Waterfall Tour of Umegashima
Umegashima is home to numerous waterfalls, each with its own unique charm, including “Abe no Otaki”—the city’s largest waterfall and a selection of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls—as well as “Sandan no Taki” (a narrow, three-tiered waterfall), “Koino Taki,” “Akamizu no Taki,” and “Hōgetsu no Taki.”

It takes about 50 minutes by car from the Shin-Shizuoka Interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway to Umegashima Onsen, and about 45 minutes to Akamizu Falls.[Public Transportation]
◎ Abe Otaki Waterfall: Take the Abe Line bus from JR Shizuoka Station for 1 hour and 45 minutes, get off at Abe Otaki Iriguchi, then walk for 40 minutes. ◎ Akamizu Waterfall: Take the Abe Line bus from JR Shizuoka Station for 1 hour and 35 minutes, get off at Akamizu, then walk for 5 minutes.
