Kojō-ji Temple

This temple enshrines a lock of hair from Okazaki Saburō Nobuyasu, a military commander who, despite being born as the eldest son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, was forced to commit suicide after being accused of treason. A memorial stupa remains at the temple, which is said to have been visited by daimyō on their sankin-kōtai pilgrimages and by Korean diplomatic envoys since that time. Records also exist documenting the stays of these Korean diplomatic missions at the temple.
