Taigetsuro
Founded in 1919, Taigetsuro is a traditional Japanese restaurant built in the Sukiya-style on a 3,300-square-meter (approximately 1,000 tsubo) lot surrounded by forests and bamboo groves. The name “Taigetsuro” derives from the tea room “Taigetsu” at Togetsuhō Shibayaji Temple, a hermitage established by the renga poet Munenaga during the Muromachi period some 500 years ago.
The combination of a luxurious setting and atmosphere, kaiseki cuisine made with seasonal ingredients, and our traditional tororo soup has delighted guests across generations. In a space that preserves Japanese tradition while embracing a fresh, modern sensibility, we invite you to fully savor the flavors of the four seasons and the hospitality of nature.
