Enjoy Shizuoka City's History with a Castle Seal Tour! ♪ Kojima Jinya and Kamabara Castle Seals Now Available
The Suruga Province Castle Stamps are here to make exploring Shizuoka City’s castles even more fun!
A new initiative, the "Suruga Province Castle Seal Project," has launched to help people enjoy Shizuoka City's history in a more accessible way.
A "Gojōin" is a commemorative certificate that visitors can purchase as a memento of their visit to a castle or military headquarters.
For the first phase, two types of Oshiroin—one for Kojima Jinya and one for Kamabara Castle—are now available.
Why not take these Gojo-in with you as you tour Shizuoka City’s historic mountain castles and administrative posts, immersing yourself in the history and culture that thrive in the region?
This is recommended not only for history buffs but also for anyone who enjoys walking tours and exploring the local area.
What is Kambara Castle like?
It is a mountain castle built on a hill overlooking Suruga Bay during the Warring States period.
As control shifted among the Imagawa, Hojo, and Takeda clans, it served as a vital stronghold defending the eastern part of Suruga Province.
Traces of the castle’s bailey still remain today, allowing you to experience the history of the Warring States period up close.
What is Kojima Jinya?
It was used as the headquarters of the Kojima Domain during the Edo period.
It played a vital role as a regional stronghold supporting the Tokugawa shogunate’s governance.
Remains such as stone walls still stand today, allowing visitors to sense the atmosphere of an Edo-period jinya.
