Gaiaflow Shizuoka Distillery

Enthusiasts around the world are watching closely. The "Shizuoka Terroir" nurtured by the flames of a wood fire

Nestled in the Okushizu region, surrounded by lush nature, lies a mecca for Japanese whiskey that has captured the world’s attention.

From raw materials to equipment, we rigorously pursue the essence of Shizuoka, aiming to create a unique flavor that can only be produced in this region.

Its most distinctive feature is the “wood-fired still,” a method extremely rare even on a global scale.

By using locally sourced thinned timber as fuel and distilling with the power of flickering flames, the base spirit is imbued with a robust, aromatic character.

Furthermore, the local character of Shizuoka is evident throughout the facility, from the use of groundwater from the Southern Alps for the mash water to the use of Shizuoka-grown cedar for the fermentation tanks.

The sophisticated architectural space, which makes generous use of local timber, is also a must-see.

Tours of the production process and tastings of rare unblended spirits offer a truly exquisite “adult field trip.”

Please enjoy a luxurious moment enveloped in the tranquility and rich aromas of Okushizu.
