Ukigetsuro Restaurant
The site of the residence where the 15th Shogun, Tokugawa Yoshinobu, spent more than 20 years during the Meiji era.
This traditional Japanese restaurant, with over 110 years of history, is located just a 3-minute walk from the north exit of JR Shizuoka Station. Yet, once you step through the gate, a 2,000-tsubo garden spreads out before you, virtually unchanged from the time of Lord Yoshinobu.
With cherry blossoms in spring and autumn foliage in fall, you can enjoy the flowers and trees of each season, allowing you to momentarily forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
At the restaurant "Kaiseki, Ginjo, Sanshiki Ukidono," which features a viewing platform extending over the pond, you can enjoy seasonal kaiseki cuisine while gazing out at the garden. After your meal, take a stroll through the garden to experience the seasonal ambiance. At night, the garden is illuminated, creating an atmosphere quite different from that of the daytime.
