Lake Ikawa Ferry
The service began in 1958 as a project of the former Ikawa Village to provide transportation for residents who had lost access to the opposite shore due to the creation of Lake Ikawa following the construction of the Ikawa Dam.Initially, two boats operated the route, but due to a decline in commuters and an increase in tourists, one boat was converted for tourist use in 1994. It now operates as a regular sightseeing boat, offering a roughly one-hour cruise across Lake Ikawa. You can enjoy the cruise while taking in the fresh greenery of spring and the autumn foliage throughout the seasons. The Akaiishi-maru, the regular sightseeing boat, has a capacity of 20 passengers, and boarding is free. Please note that operations may be suspended due to dam water levels, weather conditions, or other factors.
