Kajiwara-yama Park
This park was jointly developed by the former cities of Shizuoka and Shimizu along their municipal border. From the observation deck, the urban areas of Shizuoka City’s Aoi and Suruga Wards, as well as Shimizu Ward, spread out below. On clear days, you can see as far as Mount Fuji, the Miho Peninsula, Suruga Bay, and the Izu Peninsula in the distance. At night, you can enjoy one of the best night views in Shizuoka Prefecture, which has recently been designated as a “Japan Night View Heritage” site.
In addition, the approximately 1-kilometer ridge connecting Kajiwara-yama Park and Ipponmatsu Park is a popular hiking trail.
Mount Kajiwara, located in northern Shizuoka City, is a mountain associated with the Kajiwara clan of the Kamakura period and is a highly popular hiking course due to its magnificent views of the city.
