Rest Area (Hatago Izumiya)
The Rest House (Hatago Izumiya) was a place where travelers on the Tōkaidō Road stayed during the Edo period.
When it was the Izumiya Inn, it was a single building. However, today the four-ken section on the left serves as a private residence, while the section on the right, just under two ken, is open to the public as a rest area.
The building was constructed during the Tenpō era (1830–1844) and survived the Great Ansei Earthquake without collapsing.
As a result, visitors can see the original construction of the building at the rest stop.
