Mihoshi Shrine
This shrine, associated with the legend of the Feathered Robe, has watched over the Miho region since ancient times, and is said to house a fragment of the robe.
It is also mentioned in the Engishiki, and was deeply revered by the imperial court of the time, as well as the military commanders of the Minamoto, Imagawa, Takeda, Toyotomi, and Tokugawa clans.
In particular, the Tokugawa shogunate constructed and donated a magnificent complex of shrine buildings during the Keichō era (1596–1615).
It is a famous spot for cherry blossoms in the spring and is also popular as a power spot for marital harmony and matchmaking.
