Ryukaji Temple
This temple was founded in 1660 (the early Edo period) by the High Priest Nikin and belongs to the Nichiren sect. Renowned as one of the most famous temples in the Tokai region, it is beloved by many for its magnificent views of the Kan-to area, and is the final resting place of the literary giant Takayama Chugyu, known as “Takiguchi Nyudo.” Additionally, the giant cycas and cactus in the temple garden have been designated as National Natural Monuments.
