Lake Ikawa

Constructed in 1957 during the building of the Igawa Goro Dam—Japan’s first gravity-flow hydroelectric power plant—this artificial lake spans approximately 10 kilometers and is fed by water from the Southern Alps. From the nature trail that circles the lake, visitors can enjoy the changing colors of the seasons and view the Igawa Daibutsu (Great Buddha).
