The House with the Sea Cucumber Walls

Houses with "sea cucumber walls" are a style commonly seen from the Meiji era through the early Shōwa era.

The name comes from the fact that the walls, covered with flat roof tiles and filled with fish-shaped plaster in the gaps, resemble a sea cucumber.

Within the Kamabara district, this style can be seen at two homes: the Sato and Yoshida residences.
