Seimiji Temple
Founded during the Nara period, this temple is one of the most renowned along the Tōkaidō. In addition to its garden, designated as a National Scenic Spot, and the "Reclining Dragon Plum" tree—said to have been grafted by Tokugawa Ieyasu—the temple houses numerous designated cultural properties, including a temple bell, the main gate, and calligraphy and paintings. The Five Hundred Arhats on the temple grounds are featured in the works of the writer Toson Shimazaki. Furthermore, the temple is designated as a National Historic Site for its association with the Korean Envoys.
